Default just thinking ahead-need opinions

well i currently have a stock 6.0 lq9 with the vortech v2 sq trim blower set up, i also have a futral cam 213-219-15 +3with the comp 918 springs and ti retainers.I also have a spare 6.0l block sitting here. The question is what should i do with it? I would really like big cubes 402 or 408 but i dont know if the vortech will be able to feed it.ANother idea is just bore it .30 over and get some forged pistons/rods. to accomidate more boost, i think that would give me a 370.

So if you guys would put yourself in my shoes what would you do? T.I.A.

NOT TOO FAMILIAR WITH THE VORTEC S/C'S, BUT CAN YOU RUN A DIFFERENT PULLEY FOR MORE BOOST? IF SO, I WOULD BUILD A 408

well if i am going to rebuild the motor im going to do arorund 8-9 to 1 compression and then up the boost to around 15 psi or maybe a bit more. i am just unsure of this vortech being able to push that kind of boost with those cu in.

Im trying to keep it so it will still pass smog though, just seeing what my options are

I'm not sure what teh V2 SQ will support, but I'm sure you can get a Vortech to feed a 408. It might be a huge pia to mount, but...

Yeah but ussually the blowers big enough for the cubes are "race" and don't have kits. I may be wrong there, but that's how it is for ATI.

well i already have the vortech in my truck. so i dont think it will be a problem, they even have an upgade( t-trim) for it that will bolt right up and its more efficient!! i think a 408 will be in the not so distant future!

My suggestion would be to talk with the Vortech guys and make sure one of those two blowers can feed a 408. If not, they can tell you which one you need and how hard it would be etc.
