Injectors with cam?
#1
I'm getting mixed information on this subject to I'm hoping to sort this out once and for all though it might not be 100% one way or another. Do you need bigger injectors with a cam swap or not? Just to clarify I have an '05 AWD SSS and I've got a Circle-D 3200 stall sitting at the house waiting to go in as well as a set of ARH headers with 3" duals on the way. I'm looking at a 224R or 228R cam but I've been told that I'll need bigger injectors by one person and I won't by another. The guy that said I wouldn't need them said an in-tank upgrade would suffice and the guy with bigger injectors has the stock pump which leads me to believe I won't need injectors. What's the general idea on this?
My cousin is going to help me do the swap but I would like to know what else I'm going to have to buy other than the cam package from TSP. My truck only has 44k miles on it so I'm not sure if I need to put a different timing set on it or lifters.

You could probably get by with more pressure from a pump upgrade. Personally I think bigger injectors is a better option though. I was almost maxing out my stock ones with my cam. Now I have regular 8.1L injectors.

My cousin is going to tune it with HPT. I'm running one of his tunes right now and he's sending off for the upgraded version of HPT so we can data log the AFR instead of just watching it.
