Exclamation I want to build an LS Torque Monster. Please Help.

I have a '02 Drive by cable 5.3L Motor that Im dropping into a Caged 5000lb Offroad Truck w/ a TH400 and 456 gears . I want to effectively build it into a naturally aspirated Torque Monster but without breaking the bank to much. Whats the best way to do that? What parts do I need? What modifications? I have stock 5.3L heads and stock LS1 241 heads with PRC double Springs, Which should I go with for this build? I plan on running a stand alone harness and Retuned computer, P&P Throttle body and Long tube headers.

I bought some parts for cheap but I don't know if they would be good for what I want or if I should get different parts instead.

Complete LS1 241 heads w/ PRC Double springs &Titanium Retainers
Vengeance Racing VRx4 Cam .588/.592 .228/.230 112 LSA
Comp Cams Magnum Pushrods
Double roller timing chain

how much power do u need? what is your budget?

6.0 would be a better option, short gearing can make a huge difference

Ill change gears later, im just trying to figure out the best way to build the motor right now for maximum low end torque and midrange power.

No aftermarket cam is going to give you more low end than the factory cam in a n/a setup.

The best n/a option is a six liter swap.

The overall best option, imo, is picking up a tvs, maggie, or whipple in the classifieds. But that isn't going to meet the criteria of your original post.

good luck man

Cam in the 212/218 duration range and as much compression as can be had safely. Mill the heads and install flat top pistons. All the Bolton stuff is obvious enough. It all reality though without more cubes or FI your not gonna make more than 325tq. A stall will help you get to the power much sooner as well.
