I have a theory (check my logic)

and according to the overview the L33 difference is in the heads not the pistons whereas the LS4 is the piston. the L33 is nothing more than a LM7 with an aluminum block, better heads, and a better cam.

L33 has flat top pistons with larger cc 799 heads? (same as 243's)
LM7 has dished piston with smaller cc 706, 862 heads.
that's why both engines have the same cr.

You can do better with aftermarket pistons and rods. Not only are they stronger, but they'll be lighter and that translates to more power. You're going to have to pull out all the stops for this build. Pistons and rods are foundational items that are necessary to maximize power.

I would just turbo it.... you will gain alot more horsepower and it will be alot more funner to ride in it... plus with the turbo you'll be faster than that record that you are trying to go after.... I dont think that all that work that you are trying to do to break a record is really worth it... thats just my .02

The L33 5.3L has flat top pistons and LS6 heads to make CR 9.9:1 The money spent swapping pistons/rings might be better spent on more cubes. I know you want the NA 5.3L title but how much is that worth to you?
Me personally I'd like to have the fastest street legal truck title....move over guys

but he may not count anymore since he's converting to 2wd and probably wont be street legal anymore
i think you should just try to use the L33 5.3L pistons and then mill some of the L33 (#799 i think) heads about .030 and go with that
