How will comp thumpr hold up with turbo
#22
Keep in mind when choosing a cam that overlap bleeds off boost. Thumpr cam has 8* of overlap and is a not a good choice for boost.
I know you you aren't looking to set a world record, but it sounds like you want to use boost to overcome a low performing camshaft. If your cam is doing nothing but bleeding off boost, you lose on both ends. Smaller duration is best for the 4.8 and will help with boost in the long run.
My suggestion is a custom grind 214/218 on a 111 LSA. Cam will have a lot of chop to it, make good power, but with -6* of overlap, you won't bleed off near as much boost as the Thumpr.

LSA relates to overlap, but duration plays a huge role in that as well.
220/220 110 LSA = 0 Overlap
228/228 110 LSA = +8* Overlap
228/228 116 LSA = -4* Overlap
As duration increases, overlap will increase as well, unless a wider LSA is used to overcome that.

Right, use this calculator to determine overlap. Closer to 0 (or negative) as possible, the better.
