i can't stand computer parts guys! They are idiots! Yes everyone is right it will work. Swap the intake so you can keep the same fuel system and tb the harness will work and double check the cam sensor plug and the oil pressure plug in. They might be different! Good luck and thats a sweet deal for that low miles!

To defend the parts guy, he was only doing his job. If someone came into my store asking if a 2006 civic motor would swap directly into his 2002, I would probably tell him no. Not only would I have no idea, it would also be a liability on me if I told him it would and he winds up frying his whole electrical system because of a few wires being different.

I have no experience with DBW motors is the throttle position sensor still used, just on the opposite side of the throttle elec motor or is it inside the throttle elec motor.

It's built into the throttle body, and I believe there is also some sort of TPS in the pedal assembly as I have seen trouble codes where the two aren't communicating the same %.

"tell" the guy that you already have an 06 . . . or whatever he wants to hear.

get the 06 motor . . . swap it into your 02 truck . . .

reuse your orginal 02 accessories, intake TB, sensors, starter . . whatever . . .

all that you're really swapping over is the long block . .

you can drop in the newer motor with the manifolds, heads . . water pump, all on at the same time. Just wait until the end to put the intake back on.

Drop the starter to get to the flex plate for the converter bolts.

BTW: The 06 also has beefier rods like the LS2

Mine being cable driven (on the pass side) the TPS sensor is on the drivers side of the throttle body. I'm asking if its the same way on a DBW LS motor, or is it inside of the electric motor that opens and closes the throttle blade?

If you want to get a good look at the different ETC throttle bodies, take a peak at the Speartech site under the Electronic Throttle Control section. But to answere your question, only the '01 & '02 truck throttle bodies had a seperate TPS sensor like a cable TB. The Vette throttle bodies also did until the LS2 came along.

you'll probably need to extend your cam sensor plug to the front. i believe they have a front cam timing sensor.

Your '02 is a 24 tooth reluctor wheel. The '06 has a 58 tooth reluctor wheel. Your '02 PCM will not know where TDC is, nor will it understand the '6 knock sensor frequency.
