FWIW, I use a double roller chain and I run clevite coated bearings throughout the engine

I am leaning towards calico coated clevite main and rods with coated durabond cam bearings
I am studding the bottom end and getting a oil cooler and oil temp gauge to keep an eye on Temps

I'm running a Katech C5R single roller chain and cloyes hex adjust - I think it's pretty good, thoughts?

Oh and get the correct bearings for your Crank - stock style "P" for stock crank and chamfered "H"narrow style for aftermarket crank. Coated is a personal preference and depends if you have clearance for the coating.

I have been thinking of trying the c5r chain out. I currently run a ls2 with a trick flow dampner.
I will be getting the correct style for my crank and the coated bearings should put me pretty much what I want to be at as far as clearance goes.
my truck can sit for a week or even more at times depending on weather and I will be running 5-30 oil so I like the coating for those start ups if it sits for abit.
it also gives me that extra second of safety incase I do lose pressure.
thanks for the comments so far guys, hopefully more people will chime in on what they use.

I use King HP Series bearings in all of my race engines. Some of them cross the finish line at 9,000 RPM or more.

I personally like the king hp bearings but the ones that tsp sent are for sbc, and they are a bit narrower them the stock ones. I haven't had issues, just odd. I swear my oil pressure is a bit less with the king bearings.

Don't stud the bottom end unless you're going to get it align bored. The studs distort things a bit from more clamping power.

Calico coated Clevite bearings is a good way to go. I've been involved with plenty of builds that see a good bit of RPM while using the standard offerings from both Clevite and King with good results. I think a lot of it comes down to builder preference.

it will most defanitly be getting align bored for the studs.
thanks for the input Aaron, I think I have made up my mind and I am gonna go with the coated clevite bearings
