An LQ9 with 317 heads is 10.1:1
An LQ9 with 241 heads is 10.7:1
An LQ9 with 243 heads is 11.1:1
thanks man, that helps alot,so this is based on using stock head gasket right? so now i need some 243's from somewhere cheap haha, so one more question could i mill the 243's lets say .20 if i wanted too...

No problem.

Yeah that was all based on stock compressed height (GM MLS) gaskets.

For 243s, check out the Corvette Forum. Parts go cheap over there.

And yes, you can mill 243's. Patriot does 243's in 58cc chambers, so you've got plenty of room.

Honestly, though, I don't think you'll be able to tell any difference between 10.7:1 and 11:1.

I'm not sure how much you can mill b4 causing PVC problems but I would definatly use a cometic .40 gasket but be sure to spray it with copper gasket spray to keep it from blowing that will help with quench and compression

In the book by Will Handzel, they dynoed an LQ4 which checked out as having an actual 9.25:1 compression ratio and then again with LS6 heads which bumped the compression ratio to 9.915:1.

With the stock 317's, it put out 337hp & 373ft lbs. With the 243's, it put out 355hp & 396ft lbs. So it basically gained 18hp & 23ft lbs from the swap.

I would stay clear of the TSP heads and wait for something decent to come along before putting those on.....
