help identifying a cam grind

Default help identifying a cam grind

I have ssearched all over or and the net with no luck. Can anyone help me and let me know what the grind is. I was told 224/224. I am just verifying. Building another 5.3 and the torque v2 is way to big.

Did you search the 2870g # ? I found a couple posts on LS1 tech. Searched on google.

Can you measure it? You would need calipers a degree wheel and a dial indicator. Measure the base circle (the portion where the lifter rides when the cam is closed) and deduct that from the peak lift (at the widest point where the lifter rides), now multiply that by 1.7, and you have your lift. To find the duration you will need to install the cam in an old block, fasten a degree wheel to it and measure when the lifter goes up and down. Unless you can find who ground that cam, and they know what those numbers mean, you are just really guessing. First I would start out with the lift on the intake and exhaust. If it is over .600, it will more than likely be a pretty big cam.
