Default Help decide between these two cams

This is for a daily driver 4.8. Right now Im going to use a Trailblazer torque converter, but plan to step up to a 3000-3200 Circle-D in the new future.

I was planning on using a set of Comp 918 springs I had, so I was set on the .581 lift, but got to doing some research and wondering if I may be just as good going with the lower lift and some LS6 springs.

Also help me decide on my LSA

Cam 1. 220/220 .581/.581 Comp XER lobes
Cam 2. 220/220 .564/.564 Comp XE lobes

I thought I wanted a 112 LSA + 4, but now Im thinking I may want a 110 +2 or +4

Help me decide.

220/220 .581/.581 110+4. The xer lobe are supposed to be easier to tune at idle due to the faster opening/closing rates. The stock heads will flow fine with that lift too... Just my .02

Also the 106 ICL I suggested above will make more TQ due to the increased DCR, which the 4.8 needs as much TQ as it can get. The increased overlap with the 220/220 110lsa with help in the upper rpms where the 4.8 really starts to come alive.

Depends on the heads IMO, lower lift for stockers, higher lift for worked heads...I'd run PAC 1218's for either considering how high you're going to have to spin it in a 4.8. I like the 112+4 also because I'm a little more LS traditional lol, but a lot of guys have been running tighter LSA's lately with good results...^^^

It's gonna be the factory bone stock heads.

Bud, it's a temporary engine. I'm either gonna reuse my old comp 918s or new LS6. As crazy as it sounds I'm trying to half *** do it on a budget

Personally, id go with the .564" on a 112+4. Lift will suit your stock heads, the 112 lsa will give you a flatter curve than the 110, and the +4 will bring the power in sooner. I think that cam will be a monster in that motor. I will be swapping my cam in the future to something like that, just a bit bigger to suit my mods.
