Default head swap

I have a 2000 silverado with a 5.3l engine. Could i put a set of 6.0l heads on this engine with no modification to the lower end or computer? If it is possible, what all would be involved in this sort of swap?

The increase in flow isn't worth the trade off in compression for a truck application unless you need 8.5:1 or less c/r. Also, the combustion chamber overhangs the 5.3l cylinder bore by a bunch. Not good for airflow.
More than likely head work is going to require some tuning to take full advantage of the airflow increase.
Sorry to be a cumergeon, but I'm sure most will agree that it isn't a good idea to make this swap.

Good luck,

Richard

Thanks, thats why i posted this question. I was interested in the 6.0 heads cause they had bigger valves. Plus i could get some very cheap. I guess ill have to go with something aftermarket.

You could also pick up some 5.3L heads on the cheap and have someone do some minor 'work' on 'em and, probably, be surprised at what you pick up in horsepower. Just a thought.

We have several cylinder head packages for 5.3l heads including something aftermarket that will be released very soon.

Do you have a flow sheet for WCCH #2001? What is the assembled price?

Sorry the website isn't clear about flow and pricing. We're going to be updating the website pretty soon and hopefully clear this up. There's some errors on the Products page that will be corrected shortly.
Here's the Stage 2 flow data:
Lift........Intake..............Exhaust
.100".......65.5.................58.8
.200"......141.0...............112.8
.300"......187.0...............152.3
.400"......227.0...............182.7
.500"......256.5...............205.9
.550"......260.2...............217.1
.600"......252.1...............223.5
The intake ports are tested with a radius flow plate and the exhaust ports are tested with a stub pipe.
The cost for the WCCH2001 package runs $1080.00 per pair exchanged. The package includes single springs and steel retainers. Upgrading to dual springs and titanium retainers runs $176.00.
