Disadvantage in labor maybe. Shouldn't be a huge deal but the Whipple will be WAY more fun until! Torque is incredibly more than a cam. I'm still pissed about not doing my research of having to do injectors and hp pump b4 installing Whipple. I still haven't pulled it off to do that. Injectors could have let me do E85 easily with no other changes and another 50 hp at least.

If you do the Whipple first, will you have enough fuel without the +32% fuel lobe? I would think the cam first would be prudent to help insure enough fuel when the blower goes on.

ZO6Ted,

I am leaning toward doing the Whipple first....much easier install...bigger HP increase.

The fuel system in the L86 should easily support the Whipple on 91 octane.

Some say, with a +32% fuel lobe cam, the stock fuel system could support e85....others disagree. I wonder if the addition of water/methanol injection would allow for e85 without upgrading the stock fuel system, which shows 123 lbs./hr. (2,205 max psi). I123 lbs/hr x 1.32 = 162 lbs/hr. with the +32% lobe

Hopefully, someone will chime in regarding the duty cycle of the 12656931 injectors. I have seen calculators for selecting injectors, but they all seem to be for port injection as the duty cycles you can select from only go down to 75% or so.

Take a look at what happended to mine in my rcsb thread. They aren't designed to handle 600+rwhp power slides and burn outs. Lol...

Seriously doubt he's gonna be sliding the SUV, for one thing

I dont know the AAM line up, but your RCSB would have had a 12 bolt at best, from the factory. Dont know what axle you had in it, if you broke a 14b G80, heres a cookie

Ppl have broken gen4 rods as well, I guess those are now crap too? How about all them 4L80s that lost reverse? garbage?

I would do injectors and Whipple first as LT4 injectors are not that expensive. It will support low 600's I'm pretty positive without going back again and checking. Cam will only enhance and allow E85 then do a LT4 hp pump while apart. Check out what Armageddon Turbo did on an L86. Upper 600's on stock fuel as I recall but PLEASE verify. Had to turn it down for longevity of stock ring gap and pistons. Do the Whipple I've never been sorry for a DD. Just should've done injectors as well.

LT4 Fuel Pump with a Whipple sounds like it requires significant modification of the Whipple to make it fit.

Will upgrading to LTt4 injectors allow e85 ?

There is a you tube vid by Pmoore showing how to clearance it. You just need a grinder and follow his guideline on exactly where and how much. Doesn't look all that involved. Yes on the injectors and E85.
