all the trucks use the ls6 oil pump. its been standard issue since 2003. no use in upgrading when youve already got one

There are so many factors- who is doing the building?- You, your mechanic or the engine machine shop? What else are you doing- gasket sets, timing chain, upgraded bolts etc.
For sure, for sure it is cheaper to buy a 5.7 or a 6.0L and drop it in.
