Default Free 4.8, turning into a 383

in the next month or so I will be putting a new engine in a company truck, im getting the core 4.8 for free, and I want to build it into a 383 stroker for my crew cab. its an 08 block so it has 243s and the nnbs intake. would these be good for a daily driven 383 build? what about cam specs? no boost right now, but depending on how things go I might decide on a super charger later on.

Sweet deal. The heads and intake should be fine for a DD. Looks like a good setup for a high compression 383. I would say that you would be just as happy boring it out and making it a 5.7 with a used stock rotating assembly and putting the money left over into the blower. With a PD supercharger, you will not notice the 33 cubic inches you will have less. IMHO

I agree that an iron LS1 would be a better idea. Foose04 made the jump from his 4.8 to the 5.7 and has a pretty wicked build. Less money than a 383 and not running on the ragged edge.

sad part is price youll have into making that 4.8 a 6.3 it will be same exact cost to make a 6.0 into a 6.7

this is why many dont go this route.......
