I think it'll be a fun build!

I'd probably stick with the cathedral heads and go with the isky 218/218 on a 112. I would guess it's the best One that will run well NA for the time being.

All sounds good. depending on how much boost you plan and what fuel I might think about a 799/243 head. They seem to make better tq than the 317 heads NA due to a more efficient chamber. The aftermarket flat top pistons usually have 5cc worth of valve notch so won't be much more compression than a factory 7cc lq4 piston. I run my 218 cam in the nova and love the tq it makes in the 6.0L. If a guy were going to be a tad over 10:1 there is also the 221/224 that would work well both NA and boosted. All depends on turbo, converter, fuel etc planned and how long it will be NA for.

plan is to run around 15 pounds of boost on 93 pump gas but with meth, on a kb 70mm turbo setup in the future, as for fuel run stock bucket with two walbro 400 upgraded lines etc..

Specs on the pistons. these are from thompson
-1.6cc (flat top w/ valve reliefs)
Compression Height: 1.331"

Must be shallow reliefs then and will be better off with 317's. Also that is the cr height sounds like it might be for the stock ls1 rod length which uses the .945" pin. I normally go the 6.125" rod with .927" pin. Saves a little weight.

That's a decent looking piston similar to the Autotecs I use in my customer builds. Just watch the deck height with that CR height you are going to be down in the hole about .010' vs the factory piston which will effect compression ratio and quinch unless you deck the block accordingly or run a thinner head gasket.

I think you will be fine just be sure to set deck height accordingly. Factory lq4 and 9 piston sits .008" out of hole and gasket is ~.055" thick. If you used a .040" gasket with that piston it would prob be about perfect. Only problem is if you plan on boost later the ls9 gaskets are best and they are about .055" as well.

my plan was to square the deck up when i send it to be machined
