That's correct. They came with a 4L65E.

You could also search around for people selling the re-worked 5.3L heads (valve size correction and ported) and really build some torque with it. My brother wants to help build the motor up so we are planning on tearing down the motor completely this weekend. We're thinking of going with a 402 setup.

that's got a ton of leaks on it for being an 03 . . . . was it in a roll over or a fire?
