a few quick cam install ?'s
Basically here's what I've got: LS1 Hotcam with LS6 springs (all came in kit)
Should I go ahead and get hardened pushrods? 7.400" is the correct length for stock motor?
Would TR-55's be recommended to install while I have everything apart anyways?
The dowel rods you put in the front of the block to keep up the lifters, is it 3/16"?
I think that about covers it. I bought the crane cams spring tool so that should help out a bit. Other than that I think I have all the parts I need. Any comments/suggestions would be great
Thanks in advance,
Jake

Do answer your first question: it depends. Pushrod size has no correlation with engine size. It depends on the base circle of your cam. On the cam specs it should say the recommended pushrod length.
Your 3rd question: I believe it's actually 5/16's for the pushrods. The LS1howto should say though.
Your second question: In my opinion, it's not needed. I've been rocking the stock bosch spark plus for 12k after installing my cam and when I checked them yesterday they looks darn near perfect.

Thanks for the quick response. I meant to type 5/16" lol, It's too late for me to operate. I'll check the GMPP site again for pushrod length, but do I really need to get new pushrods? I run my motor to 6300 w/out any problems and the new cam doesn't have much lift (.525). I'm not experienced in the valvetrain area so that's why I leave these questions for yall to answer haha.

Being a GM cam, it is probably a safe bet that the 7.400 pushrods will work fine. I would throw some hardened ones in there while your at it, just for some insurance.
