Excessive valve train noise

Just turn it over by hand once to check the wipe (just opened and closed, you don't have to do 2 crank revolutions). The easiest way I could suggest to check the wipe is to use a length checker. I made one out of a couple old pushrods just so I could get it done that day. They are cheap if you want to wait for one to be shipped.

I definately feel your pain on this subject. I had went through the same problems. I am running a TR 219 224 with a 604/ 609 on a 115 and I kept bucking rockers. The final vedict was my wipe pattern was substantialy off on just the p/s so quick shot in the dark was that I pulled all the rockers off and turned the rocker saddle rail upside down and torqued everything back down. Substantially quietened it down and gave me the correct wipe pattern. I hope you discover the cause.
