Wow, that's a good amount of money. Since you have to spend some on body work I would use your 5.3 block, bore it to 5.7L and get it buit with forged internals and put your blower on there. I've heard a 5.7L built engine is the cheapest you can go.

I totally agree with spoolin......bore your 5.3 out to 5.7 with forged internals and use some 317 heads to lower your compression and you will basically have an iron block LS1 that you can boost the out of.....and if you want to get even more you can always stroke it to 383

Got the cash, options?
Iron block 5.7.
Stroked out 383.
Buy a 6.0 and build it up.
Or stroked out to a 408.

Best bang for the buck would be the iron block 5.7, 317 heads, 01 or the 02 LS6 camshaft.
Forged pistons, your crank and rods will hold up with a custom tune and a radix.
Should leave a few buck left over for some trans work, gears, and locker.

I built my 402 for $6000. Another $5000 and you could buy a supercharger but then you would need a built tranny and possibly rear end. $15000 will go pretty quick if your stock right now and you want big power.
