the only time i have pulled all i once i had the whole front clip off, i dont see you being able to do it with the front clip on, much much easier to just drop the tranny and t-case and then pull the motor

i pull my t-case and tranny off before i pull the motor....but i never thought about removing the front clip! Mine wouldnt be too bad since it would only be outside fenders and radiator support... might try that this time

Are you absolutely against separating the engine and trans/t-case? You can do the engine & trans if you have room on top and bottom but I doubt you're getting all three out without taking off all the rad support and such. It's actually easier to split them.

As far as lifting the motor and trans with head bolt holes, yes that's fine/normal.

What "eyes" are you referring to on the 'old school' stuff? On the SBC, BBC, BBF, and SBFs I've swapped and re-built I don't ever re-call engine swap eyes.

the engine and tranny is just sitting in a bare frame, he will be able to pull it straight up.... There used to be little spots on the front and rear of the engine to hook a chain thru on older engines, not all but quite a few. I dont know of any of these tho

i just put the lift points on the motor and a jack under the t-case and pulled it all out the front, when i couldnt use the jack anymore i had a friend hold the t-case over the frame, but i dont like doing it that way, i just unbolt the tranny and t-case before the motor comes out, saves time for me front clip or not

I see that now, that post wasn't there when I read the thread and started my reply.
