Eagle has a new stroker kit for the 4.8/5.3s. Nets you 363cid with a 3.800" bore,4.00"stroke and a 6.125" rod. Pretty interesting I thought. Wonder how that would do with a 2.3 whipple........

IMO, I think most people that will spend that kind of money are gonna do so with a larger block.

Keep in mind you can also take a 5.3 block to a 383 ci.

 

Not everyone will put that kind of money into these 5.3 4.8 blocks these days. Still interested in how well they can do with a longer stroke.

 

oh i agree, that kind of money can net you a much better combo. Just curious how well it would do with boost or nitrous

 

i'd take the dependabily of a stock stroke myself. strokers seem like they usually end with a headache. and hasnt the quality of eagle been called out in the last few years?

 

I certainly don't see a reason. Sell the stock 4.8 or 5.3 get a bare 6.0 block and heads. More power same or less money.

 

I agree, but have to say Eagle is in everything thing now. Even some big end marine builds guys are using Eagle, those get BEAT on, still seem to hold up . My machine guy says he would take Scat stuff over Eagle all day though.

 

Seen an eagle crank break at the front rod journal and was still running..
As for cheap sbc cranks I like scat
