I'm sure you don't "need" them, but they have been known to get bent on even a stock engine so why skimp, just get some hardened pushrods. I don't know about that cam but pushrod length is determined by the base circle of the came so if it is the same a stock base circle then you will need 7.40 pushrods.

Your stock pushrod length is 7.400 unless you have changed to a ls6 cam or have had your heads milled, otherwise stock length is fine. Yes i do think you should upgrade to hardened pushrods. You can grab a used set of comp cam pushrods for about $50 in the parts for sale section

Why are you going with a cam from TPIS? Not challenging you, just curious

Got it from a member here. Why do you ask? Is it not a good cam?

It sounds like an excellent choice for a street performance cam with a stall in a 5.3L. It's just that I don't think I've run into a single person who's run this cam on this forum or ls1tech. TPIS is right in my backyard and I was considering this same cam for my 6L but they're $450 new. Blech! I bet you got a lot better deal than that. As far as pushrods go, I would recommend something other than stock as rod flex starts to occur with higher spring pressures and higher rpms. You'll pick up more power up high with aftermarket pushrods as it'll eliminate any rod deflection that would occur with the stockers. Get a set of Manley's or trickflows if you don't want to pay the comp prices. You will immediatly see and feel the difference when you take them out of the box and compare them to the stockers. Good luck and remember to keep in touch with us once that cam is installed. I want vid/audio clips along with your personal thoughts on this cam.
