Default daily driver?

I am looking to go ahead a pull my engine out of my truck and replace it but if I do it I am wanting to go ahead and build a strong built engine that will work for a daily driver. I have a 4.8 in it now and I am either going to put a 5.7 or a 6.0 in it and either stroke it or just leave it and build it from the block up. I am also wanting to know what would be a good horse power rating to have for a daily driver all the help would be very appreciated and thanks in advance, later.

Have you thought about putting in a 5.3 by any chance? They can make some pretty decent power

Either way you go will cost about the same. 6.0's are going for $1200 to $1900 depending on LQ4 or LQ9 and mileage etc.. I am looking into building the 5.7 myself..... I figure that with the same amount I can put in forged pistons and probably a cam. Just remember the tranny is weak so start saving your pennies for it too. As far as daily driver horsepower there isn't a limit. You could build it for nitrous have 400ish horepower and spray another 200, and be very streetable. check out the shop car videos at dpecorvettes.com he's streetable with 1200ish horsepower

that is cool guys I really appreciate your help, now would it be a good idea to just go ahead and build a stroker motor or just buy a stock engine and just have it freshened up with new bearings pistons a bore, (maybe H-beam rods) with all the other bells and whistles. Or just build a small stroker and do it with all the tricks I have been seeing on here by using 4.8 or 5.3 heads and just have them ported and have valvles and springs put in them, thanks for your help all of this is very informative, later.
