You are so very very correct about that...! Unfortunately my level of expertise stops right at about 1000th of an in. I just don't ever want to kick myself for "not" doing something. Let me ask you this is moving over to the brass guides a solid idea though?? (That's the thing about all of the needless things we spend money on with re-building an engine.) Trial and error I suppose

Well quick search online over the +\- on brass guides over steel guides resulted in brass being a more self lubricating metal as opposed to steel. Not as resilient as steel of course but it dissipates heat better and away from the valve. So I gather!

If you are gonna put alot of miles on this motor. I would not go with the brass guides.
