I'm assuming this happened during shipping....I know UPS isn't the kindest to heavy packages.
Anyways, on this first one there was a significant amount of metal stickup up on the head surface so I went and ground it off. It feels smooth and flat to the finger, I'm assuming I'll have no problems here?

Second head also had a nick when i opened the box, it's slightly raised on the head surface, I haven't touched this one. Will this cause any sealing problems. I'm using standard GM MLS gaksets btw.

And if you're curious what the stage 1 prc ports look like here's my best attempt at photography

I'd knock those nicks down with a small file. Otherwise those nicks don't even look like they're on the sealing surface of the head. They go onto the deck but there's no water or cylinder gasses near those nicks. Stop worrying.

Yeah I here you there, BUT cleaning the gasket material off and plugging all the water jackets and vacuuming out the cylinders and making sure everything is installed to perfection takes time. I guess I'm just slow....
