Default comp xr259 for 4.8.

is the xr259 a good cam for the 4.8 thats in my 2007 nbcc 4x2? its a dd that sees alot of highway and street use.and what can i excpect from this cam.my truck is all stock w/ k&n filter and will go with 3:73s or 4:10s dont know yet.usa:

i would 1 step up, the 212/218, still good with stock converter and gears

i read ur set up,and is the the tr220-114 better than the comp xr265, for the 4.8?

From your description of your truck use, I'd stick with a max of a xr265. Or one of the similar duration high ramp rate cams from Isky. I really like what their lobes look like for a torquey cam.

Good info guys.so what about rear gears and stall with this cam? Is 4:10s and a 2500 stall good? And the heads are 243s, will these heads flow with this xr265 cam?

i love my 220, it pulls soooo hard aftr 2800-3k.

I think that is the cam I have. Been awhile since I have looked up the number on it. But it is not a bad cam by no means. It has a little more power down low then stock and pulls a lot better around 25 or 3000 and up to around 6300 in my 5.3. And thats in a ecsb 4x4. I want to go back bigger but for a stock truck it is a good cam I think.

i got on thunder racings web site and looked at the tr220 specs and they have a 114 and 112, whats the differance? and i have been looking at past post about this cam and i think i might do the tr220 instead.
