Def haven't forgot about WCCH. I have talked to Richard regarding cam selection several times. He was extremely helpful in helping me narrow down my options and providing some great info. Big props to them, they will be who I call if I can ever get the funds together for the swap.

i figured id just ask here since theres abunch of info already, im kinda confused with all these numbers being thrown around but im looking for 1 maybe 2 steps above a stock 5.3 cam id like to keep everything else stock just bring a little more power outta her and not kill the MPG doing it but from what ive see would i go with a 206/212 or a 208/212 or something different?

You might not believe this, but I put cam from a 5.3 in a 4.8 that was in the 220 range duration and 540 lift. The customer wanted Scopion rollers and opted for the 1.8s which caused the effective lift to go to the 575 neighborhood. This truck kicks butt and the owner now thinks that everyone that pulls up beside him at a red lite is looking to race. Of course, the PCM was reflashed(TSP) since it has an auto. trans. I also installed most of the other bolt on mods, but no aftermarket heads or headers. None the less the truck hauls even thought it's N/A with no dope. I also put a Superior Super Servo in there which makes shifts more fun even if it is an auto.

I think that a 206/212 or 208/212 cam with a 112 to 114 LSA and about 3 degrees advance ground in would be an excellent choice for a 4.8 Auto or Manual. You'll loose a little torque off idle but you should be fine by 1,200 RPM's and it will breathe better by 1,800 RPM's (as compared to a stock cam). Also, unless you have decent aftermarket heads, a valve lift above .520" won't help much if any.

well i have the mods in my sig and the cam (212/218) definitily pulls in the Mid and up top but to me it leaves a little to be desired off the line yet I am still on the stock stall so that should clear that problem up.
I just got my truck dynoed and it did 306hp 305tq not the most power but the truck runs strong for a 4.8 on 22s

you need to check out the flow charts posted on the site.
the 4.8/5.3 heads flow best with a cam at around 550 lift.
