Default Choosing a cam for ls1

I need help on choosing a cam for my truck
It's an ls1 with lt headers, 3600 stall and 4.10 gears
Also have a spare of 317 heads around for the swap
What would be a good cam for my set up

Lots of cams will go great with your setup. Are you daily driving the truck? Are you planning on spraying?

When I had the ls1 in my truck I ran a baby Cam Motion custom grind 222/226. I wanted bigger so when I blew it up and installed my LQ4 I bought my buddy's AI custom 231/237 and now I wish I was a little smaller lol. I'd throw a high 220's duration cam in it if I were in your place. I'm seriously thinking about swapping mine out to a 228R or TR226. My cam wants to push through the SS3600.

Why would you lower compression with 317's?

Your dynamic compression will probably be in the ******* with that cam and 317 heads

Find some 243/799 heads. They can be found for about 3-400$ and will keep compression nice while adding a good bit of flow.

What he said. Plus I believe the combustion chambers are 2cc's smaller than the 241's, raising your compression slightly.

Get some used ported 243s and ls6 intake with a mid high 220s cam. Proven combo for +/- 400 at the wheels. Mill the heads .03 and be around 11:1 compression.
