If your concerned with DCR, put a smaller cam in there. It's not like your on the small side. Not to mention, it would seem more combination 'appropriate'. Highly ported heads don't require a huge cam to make huge horsepower.

Also don't kill yourself with DCR.It was a hot subject awhile ago but higher DCR NEVER means more power.

Also, the gas in the NE sucks.Add that to a heavy truck and you'll find out quick that the timing has to be lowered a bit which losses power.
my 5.7 seems to have a good power range getting 1.70 60' spinning and trapping 110mph in the ecsb on motor. higher dcr dosent mean more power but when your trying to get your compression up its definately something you want to pay attention to when you want to stay on pump gas. sure i went from 36* of timing to 27* but the times still dropped. i guess its all about what angle you want to attack.

I am kind of at a cross road with my truck. I realize that my cam choice was not optimal, but it can be changed.

I could go FI and change the cam, and I have thought about this. Put the TR Blower cam in and a Radix, and call it a day. Thoughts?

I dunno. I still think that forged 347 and spray with my h/c would be a good set up along with a 3600 stall.

If you drove my truck you'd be sold in seconds for a turbo.Thing works perfect for this heavy vehicle and makes alot of torque down low.

I have been sold on FI, I'm just not at the point of my life where I can afford it.

I have a problem with people thinking that DCR is an exact science.

Most people fail to realize that your DCR will change as RPM's increase and the push rods start deflecting more.
