I wasn't sure if it was 2cc or 7cc. I read 2cc somewhere.

I agree ^^^^

really nothing in your set-up has changed from the stock CR, because the heads haven't been milled and your using a stock head gasket.

Well if that's the case, your DCR is pretty low. Not going to be peppy with those numbers.

SCR= 9.63 DCR=7.59 with 7cc dish. So y'all are right.

So should I get the heads milled and go with a .040 gasket to up the CR?
A SCR 10.5 / DCR 8.25 would be nice.

It runs decent, but I think it has a lot more in it.

Right now I am thinking 347 after punching some numbers.

This is the exact reason why I tell people to research before they do things. I was planning on a 347 eventually.

I bet if you took a poll here, you would find a lot of cammed and even heads/cam trucks (including mine, 7.93:1 DCR) are below 8:1 DCR. There is only so much you can do to raise compression on a stock shortblock with dished pistons.

Your probably right, I tend to worry about DCR too much.

if your not planning a supercharger or turbo shoot for 8.7 dcr. everyone on tech agrees that thats the limit for 93 octane and mine is loving it.

That would be a horrible power range for a 5.3L.Even in a 5.7 it wouldn't be very good in a truck unless you have 6.xx gears.If you want a fast truck having HP peak at 5500-6000rpm is your best bet. Also don't kill yourself with DCR.It was a hot subject awhile ago but higher DCR NEVER means more power.

Also,the gas in the NE sucks.Add that to a heavy truck and you'll find out quick that the timing has to be lowered a bit which losses power.
