if you cant afford a supercharger or tubro then a cam swap is your next best friend. n2o is cool too but the truck will still be a turd without it.

You are exactly right. A lot of people dont realize how well desgned the heads are on gen III motors. Stock truck heads from Gen III motors flow beter than many aftermarket heads for SBC's. These factory cams are very conservative and these heads will support a lot more vave timing. Just look at what some of the cam only F-bodies run. A cam is a very good upgrade, dollar for dollar probably one of the best. Just time consuming and kinda involved to install.

I agree, these motors respond very well to camshaft swaps. I think they are definetly worth the money.

A perfect example of how much better the heads are is in a AFR add they show different engines and how much their heads improve over stock. The show 110hp over stock on a gen 1 sbc and 40 hp over stock on a LS1. That should about explain it all.
