stock Zo6 Or ported Zo6 heads?

Default stock Zo6 Or ported Zo6 heads?

I have a 5.3L and want to have about 500hp do i need the ported heads to be it or can stock Zo6 heads do it? thanks

500 hp n/a or forced induction? For either application, ported is always better than stock(per my experience, anyway). For forced induction with Z06 heads, you might be able to get away with leaving them stock, depending on boost level and computer tune... With n/a you will probably need porting. - edited -Oops... Guess if I'd have read your name I'd know huh... Prolly forced induction? Well anyway, my recommendation stands as is...

Depends on if you have a cam or are adding one with the heads too. Basically, you might as well, but with the 5.3L and 5000lbs of street truck you don't want too much of a port if your N/A

well this is what i have i got a 99 sliverado ecsb it weighs 4400lbs i have a whipple on it with about 380hp at 7 psi.

Hey I see your time what kind of tires do you have? I have a 5.3 stock with etion poss., 4.11, shorty headman headers, k&n air filter cold air,pedator and 100 shot boost zex.

You need to have the heads matched to your cam OR redo your cam to match the heads.
