Default Cam and Torque converter ????

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 with the 4.8L/4L60E. I am trying to find a cam/stall package to put in and I just don't know that much about it. I found these parts in Summit racing catalog:

Gen III Hot Cam kit: 219/228 @.050" .525" intake/ .525" exhaust w/ LS6 valve springs. Part number:NAL-12480033

Also TCI Torque Converter GM 4l60E, LS1 3,000 rpm stall speed Part # TCI-242931.

First off would this fit on my truck? Second will it work? And third what kind of gains do you think I would see if any? Also If I put a new cam in do I really need new valve springs or a new torque converter? How big can I go? Any help would be great thanks for the time.

we need to know how you plan to use the truck. race only..daily driver, do you tow with the truck etc etc.
to begin with a 4.8l won't be really street friendly with a cam any bigger than a 220/220 really and a cam of that size will need a 3600stall to get the most out of it speed wise.
just need more info to see what your wanting to do with the truck honestly.

I am looking for torque!! I use the pickup for offroad use/daily driver. It has a 6 inch lift and 35" tires.

then stay at a 212-218 @ .050 or smaller for the 4.8 and a yank TT2600 stall. I would stay away from TCI.

werd! I haven't been able to dyno the truck with the hot cam installed, but I'll say that I haven't lost any torque down low at all. It's strong off the line, and with the tb stall I have coming it should be quite nice

I just got done talking to a shop in houston MTI motrsports and they wanted to charge me 2150.00 for a cam installed and a torque converter. That sound about right or way over priced?

This might give ya an idea Bigblazer.

Don't pay for the swap brother, if you have a mechanical bone in your body, a chiltons manual, and a half a days work will save you all that coin.
