Default Cam time for the 6.0

Ok well I started ordering a few things for my 6.0. I now need cam, heads, and gonna try and find a ls6 manifold before install but not big worry, this cam descision needs to be based around an ls6 manifold more then the truck manifold. But the truck manifold will probably be on the 6.0 upon install.

GOing with a 3400+ converter. 4.10 gears.
WCCH stage 2 heads with dual springs.
Cam needs to like a 150 shot, basically just nothing reverse split from my knowledge, unless some reverse splits like nitrous?
Im looking for a good idle thump, not lookin to be stealthy at all.
Motor will be spun to 6500 maybe a little higher.

Im thinkin I would like a 6* split between int and ext. just for the nitrous part. probably 114lsa for a little better nitrous. But 112 is fine with me if it will still react just as good with the juice. Lift doesnt bother me needs ot go good with the heads.

Will be using MLS head gasket and gonna try and reach 10.5 comp and Ive read somewhere(think its SCR) I would liek to see 8.5? Dont much if any on that part tho.

THe woodhauler has kinda hinted about getting a new cam. He has a 233/239 113 with like .600 lift. I don tthink i really want that much duration on a stock bottom end 6.0 with rod bolts. Think that cam is a bit big.

Thanks for hte help guys. Also this is a rcsb if tha thelps.

With your converter and gears you could probably put that 233/239 to use. That would probably be the largest I would expect though. As a nice second choice I think a 228/234 .588"/.598" on a 112º would have the power and idle quality your looking for. These are Comp XER lobes.
The LS6 intake would really help this setup.

Merry Christmas,

Richard

Trust me, with an ls6 manifold, the 233/239 would be awesome. You'll have plenty of converter, and gear (4.10's and 26" tires). That cam peaks around 6300 I believe, so your 6500 shift poiont would be perfect. It will idle nicely around 800-850rpms too.

The specs on that cam are: 233/239 @ .050", .595/.603 on a 113 LSA 109ICL.
That is on XE-R lobes.

Rhino I doubt with the 6.0 I will be able to use the 26"s due to spinning them way to easy.

IDK if you get on here today or somethin rhino give me a call. If not ill call you tommorow or somethin. Bout those injectors and cam.

thats what i was thinking, no more 26's unless you get one hell of a rear suspension setup going.
g/l with the setup, sounds sweet so far,

btw, ever given the Edelbrock Vicky a thought instead of the ls6, thats on my to do list.

The Wood Hauler has one setting in his house right now, with the 4 bbl tb, thats why he's probably go bigger witht he cam now. They look sweet, and its gotta help A LOT over the truck manifold on that many cubes.

IDK rgv. From the looks of the things I think me and you will be real close when im done. Ive been eyeballin your setup, just not going with as much converter.

The vicky I think isnt gonna be as good dl as I want. But then agian if im roastin gthe tires why not pul from down low. But then agian I don twant to spin a stock rotating assembly with just rod bolts to 7k rpms.
