Default cam/stall for a 5.3 s10

I'm parts gathering and it decision time.

I have a 2000 reg cab s10 and it will be stepside when finished (~3000-3200 lbs). I recently aqcuired a 5.3 engine and I already have a trick flow 220/224 .575" cam. It is going to be auto with either 3.73 or 3.42 gears. Will this be good cam for a semi-daily driver/weekend warrior? Also, what stall? Will this work well with a 100-150 shot of nitrous?

Also, how long before a 4l60e takes a poop in this setup with servos and a shift kit?

Any help will be appreciated, as I know little about this stuff.

that cam will be a nice cam in that motor with a 3200 stall verter. if it were me id do 4.10s but 3.73 will do. as far as the nitrous id say you be fine running that cam dont see why not. the 60E is hit or miss my buddy has a shift kit and servo in his 60E behind a cammed 5.3 in his 1500 rcsb he beats it pretty good and its been goin for over a year now since you'll be runnin the jug id say get a fully built one to be on the safe side IMO.

I'm interested to see how your build turns out, i have a 2000 ext cab s10 with a 5.3, basicly stock except sanderson headers and ls1 intake, the 4l60e is holding up with only a shift kit and servos. I'm looking at cams but can't decide, I dont want to lose my gas mileage, I average about 25mpg if i drive easy. What cam would you reccommend? (not trying to thread jack) I'm still learning about valvetrain engineering.

If you upgrade the clutches, it should handle the power no problem. My truck weighs ~5800lbs with a built 60e and is putting down about 550rwhp, and it takes it like a champ. With a truck that light, I would stick with the 3.42 gearing. Those s10s come with 3.08 and 3.23 gearing from the factory, the 3.08s coming with the bigger 4.3L motor. Jumping to 3.73 or higher with a weekend warrior 5.3 is just unnecessary...it'll just burn the tires and you'll get nowhere.
