Default Cam and springs ordered, what else do I need??

I ordered the LPE GT2-3 cam today for my truck and I am going to run the ls6 springs with it. My question is what else should I get, hardened pushrods???

hardened push rods are never a bad idea...maybe a ls6 oil pump...not necessary though

I say go for the push rods while your at it. Peace of mid is worth a fortune. Are you going to run this cam NA or do you have another big mod planned soon?

I am going to run it N/A for a little while and I know I will break down and add a power adder soon enough.. I guess LPE claims 30 hp na so it should be enough to put me in the 14 second club for now.. lol

I would also change the lifters, timing chain to a double roller, but I like to take the safe route

Just add hardened pushrods. No need for the lifters, timing chain, or oil pump. They usually end up causing a lot of trouble during the install, and are not really worth it.

If you doing this on your 07 "low mileage" truck.....I'd stick with cam, springs and go ahead and get the hardened pushrods as well, and of course all the gaskets and that crank pulley bolt, no need for the other stuff like lifters...gees might as well get new heads if I'm gonna do lifters just for a cam swap on a LS engine, but thats just my opinion.

some beer and chips, maybe some slim jims or jerkey.
a couple of dowel rods to hold the lifters up.
a spring compression tool.
send the old lady out for ribs with extra sause.
more beer.
call her on the phone and try to tell her just what kind of pully puller you need
because the one you have wont work.
of corse by the time she shows up the ribs will be cold and the beer will be warm
only to be showen that the sales man at sears gave her the same puller you already have, that wont work.
then it's pissed off road trip time where we stop for smokes and cold beer, only
to hit the rib shack on the way to sears where we come across a bum with a sign
WILL WORK FOR FOOD. still in a pissed off state we hand the bum a bucket of
rib bones with extra sause to dip them in, and a statment HERE SUCK ON THIS.
arive at sears after nine to find them closed, not to reopen till 11:30 sunday.

Get some extra locks - I think they come 5 or 6 to a bag. You don't want your cam install put on hold because of a $0.03 part.
