Default Cam second opinion

The guy who does all my work on my truck speced out a cam for me, 227/234 600/620 118. Now I know next to nothing about cams and I trust my guy 100% but I was looking around the internet and cant really find someone running one similar to mine. My question is with my specs what do yall thing about this cam?

Stock 5.3 with vortech supercharger 10lbs , 342 gears, 3200 stall

Def looks to be a good blower cam, but that is a ton of lift and duration for stock heads...

To much to where it's harmful or you don't know how well it's going to work performance wise?

performance wise.

You need a good split for FI. IMO, it seems like the guys running smaller duration cams with a good split and between 550 and 600 lift seem to be making good numbers and times. With FI you really dont need to go huge on the lift as the blower is already forcing tons of air into to combustion chamber. IIRC, high lift and high boost can cause some valve float issues.

Specs seem a little too big on the lift and duration. The split looks okay, and the LSA too. Unless you have aftermarket heads or something.

I wouldn't go any wider than a 114LSA if it were me.

Yeah that seems big to me. How many RPM's do you plan on turning it? What valve springs are you running on it?

+1, I'd feel better about that cam in a blown 6.0 or larger, but it's too much for a 5.3 IMO...

We were going to do a 6.0 swap but im spending the money on traction issues right now so he could of accidently gave me the specs on the cam for the 6.0.
