Default cam retainer plate bolt hole

During the process of changing my cam i stripped the head of the torx bolt. Tried to use a easy out to get the bolt out...drill broke inside the bolt and wouldn't budge. So i tack welded a bolt to the head of the stripped bolt it started coming out...until the head of the bolt snapped off! I ended up drilling the bolt out but in the process i got off center and drilled the threads out of right half of the hole. What can i do besides taking it to the machine shop so they can fill in the hole and re drill it? don't really wanna pull the motor out the truck.

Only thing that comes to mind would be putting the plate back on and use it as a PILOT for the drill.

You have a picture of how bad it is? Which hole/bolt was it?

I'll have to get a pic when I get home but the bolt is basically drilled in half. When I took out the bolt there's about 1/4 of full thread on the bottom of the bolt the rest is 50% of the bolt

Edit- this is before I cleaned the hole out. There's shavings in the pic.

I got lucky with it! The oversized hole was the exact size i needed for a heli coil to i drilled it all the way and tapped it for a heli coil. It's holding great
