My old truck had a 4.8, it had the 216/220 comp cam, tt3000, and a large tranny cooler. I towed with this setup several times with never one problem. My inlaws had a 18 foot dove tailed car hauler that I towed empty to Florida from Texas. Then we towed back a 2004 Pontiac Grand AM 4 door. My truck was loaded down the wife, myself, my father in law, and my brother brother in law. Through the flatter parts she did good in overdrive, but mainly I towed in third and about 65 mph.

I think Yank says their stalls tow well up to the TT3000, after that it's pretty much limited. I'm looking at that trucker 216/224 cam and the TT3000 again for my Silvy, everyone has had great results from it.

Hey there American Muscle.

I see you are from corona,,,hey,,i am over and up a ways from you in chino. Anyhow, I just got my truck smogged a bit ago and I have the doug thorely try- y headers. Very nice piece. Smog guys didnt even look at them and I even questioned them. They said they dont really care about headers as long as it has the provisions if necessary (i.e. egr, smog pump). I would still either go with doug thoreleys,,,or TOG (the other guys),,hell, TOG headers are based right there in corona,,matter of fact,,so is thorley,,but they dont do will call. Took me about 5-6 hours to get the old manifolds off and headers in.,,then I fabbed up my own y and bullet exhaust,,sounds pretty good and decent kick in the pants. My set up is different as I set my pipe diameter to 3.5 inches single so when im squeezing it equals the flow from the nitrous,,otherwise i am a bit over exhausted naturally asperated. Also,i have the yank tt2600. I never have any problems hauling anything or towing,,,I would highly recommend the yank tt3000 over my tt2600. Anyhow any more smog questions hit me up ill answer best i can.

I hope this is true!!! I purchased the trucker cam for my truck (4 WD ECSB w/5.3 and a centrifical supercharger w/bolt-ons). Everyone I talked to said it was a great cam for N/A or supercharged. I then called Yank and asked them to recommend a converter for me with this cam and my other mods/future mods. They recommended PT3200. I was told I would not have a problem towing with it and it would work well with everything that I have. The converter cost me a good buck but I learned the hard way once before. Never try to save money when buying a converter!!! Spend the money and get a good one. You will be glad you did in the long run. Sorry if this was off topic.

Hey, tdrumm- that profile looks pretty good. Does that cam live with the stock valve springs? I'm lookin' for more torque, myself. Say- do you, or anyoneelse for that matter, know the specs of the stock cam? Might I gain anything witha 1.8:1 rocker on just the intake? Thanks, I've already learned a bunch. BTW- I've also seen a cam with 200*/ 208* and .502/.502 w/ 110 LSA I believe, how does something like that sound........
