A company in Baton Rouge, Cammotion, is doing a custom grind. I told them I wanted more low end torque and throttle response and this is what they came up with. White1, a memeber here, recommended me to call. I live in the New Orleans area so Baton Rouge is not far away.

With the prior set up, they (cammotion) stated I could use stock springs. Now they recommend going with new springs (off an ls6).
Any agree with changes?
Basically looking for a mild cam with low end torque for better throttle response.

Well, i dont know everything about cams, but
1. Cam motion knows their ****,and
2. Thats probably to keep a little more heat in the cylinder to help with making some low end torque.
Did Kip, or Terry tell you how many RPM to sping this cam?

Yea, that lift looks a little better. Not sure who Danny is, but I trust Kip with the people he hires. I think the LS6 springs would be good insurance anyway. If you have troubel finding them, or plan to go bigger later go ahead and get some comp 915s, or 918's. I got 918's and thats what it seems most people get.

good thread, id like to know the same info...with the exception...i don't race my truck (2000 Z71), and don't really plan on getting a stall...i'd like to get a cam that helps out the entire powercurve, but mainly downlow...

Too late your hooked. I have a 2000 Z-71 too. Fixing to be mid to low 13's
Ayn cam you get worth the installation time is gonna need a higher stall converter. If you get a good converter, you wont notice it until you get on it. Putting a nice little converter will really let it get in the powerband faster, and if you stay reasonable it shouldnt affect normal day to day driving. Id think you would be happy with something like a 216/220 Comp XER and about a 2600 stall converter.
