i like this thread!

i finally started a really long one! cool

i was merely bitching that MOST cam questions can be found by a simple search, either here or the engine/exhaust section... there are FEW that need a new thread created... but it does happen occasionally.

To be fair, I know I started a cam thread once or twice on my truck... Not to mention a converter thread once or twice...

Maybe a sticky of HOW to select a cam, rather than getting a dozen different opinions.

And it's not the end of the world if you pick the wrong one. Cams hold their value pretty well, and it's not a huge job to change just a cam.

i think thats a good idea...or a sticky where everyone states the following...
ie:
2000 silverado ECSB 4x4
motor:4.8
trans: 5 speed
converter: N/A
gear ratio: 3:73's
bolt ons: long tubes, intake, true dual exhaust, ls1 fans, tune etc?
cam chosen: comp 212/218 .522/.529 114 LSA
idle quality: lopey/stockish sound?
powerband: 2200-6200
how do you like it:great all around daily driver cam, truck sounds great with it!

this is just an idea but if everyone puts in their input in a sticky it might calm down the 'is this cam for me' threads...just a thought...there are plenty of other things to add im sure...
