Default cam question

i have a 2005 chevrolet silverado with the 5.3 liter i wanna cam it but im not sure i have heard alot of suggestions about the ls6 corvette cam but any suggestions about any specific cams? i want sound and power but i dont want the truck to be some rampaging beast just something with some sound and some power. help please...

If your going to run the stock torque converter then I highly recommend a cam no larger than 208º. If you want a muscular idle sound a 112º lobe cente will work well. Cams with longer duration will start to make the low end power weak especially with a stock converter. Tuning the PCM will also compliment a cam upgrade.
Now if your going to add a higher stall converter then there are other possibilities for cam choices.
