cam question
#2
you will need a set of springs, the comp 915 and the LS6 will cover a lift of 570,
the comp 918 springs will cover a lift of 600.
your stock push rods will be too short so a new set of push rods will be needed.
some have used 7.3 and others used 7.4, you will need to measure to get the right length on a set of push rods for your set up.
the cam swap is easy, just remove everything on top of and your valve covers to get in side and remove the push rods.
remove everything on the front of the motor to get to the cover so you can remover the camshaft.
their are retainers inside the block to hold the lifters up in place, just rotate the camshaft to push all of the lifters up, after there held in place just remove the old cam and insert the new one.
replace all of the valve springs with the new one's for the larger lift of your new cam and measure to find out just what length of push rod is needed,
now after your all finished and done you will need a tune on the pcm so you can idol and get the most power from your new cam combo.
it's a good weekend job.
