Default Cam advice

Im looking to install a new cam and stall. As for the cam, on a scale of 1 to 10...10 being most agressive, I would like to be a 8. I was thinking about doing a Yank 3200 stall. I have no idea what I would need with the Vortech.

Are you positive you want to run that high of a stall in the SS? You know they make great power down low and are geared @ 4:10. I'm not saying it'll be bad but you can still benefit from the low end torque. Granted there's not a huge difference between a 3200 and a 3000 but I think the 3k is plenty for the application. JMHO

With your vortec you can go 2 different ways. stay more concervative on the cam to help out the low end and let the blower take care of the top end or since you are planning that stall then i'd say something in the 230's* duration and a 112-114 lsa. That is since you said an 8 on the scale of 10 for a FI application. You would have a really choppy idle with something in that range and would require custom tuning of course. Maybe that will get you in the ball park for now.

Generally speaking, for a cent. supercharger you want as close to 0* overlap as you can get, and you want a little exhaust bias. Something like a 228 236 .575ish/.575ish 116lsa. Thats a fairly big cam for 6.0L, sio as Mark said, expect custom tuning, low vacuum on idle and all that.

If I were you, I'd start talking to some cam grinders as well (Vinci, Ed Curtis, TSP, etc). You're going to want springs as well most likely.

This all sounds good, Im starting to hear that a lot about the 0 overlap due to the blower. If the truck is making boost and I come back to idle it has a hard time recovering to begin with so a huge overlap would suck anyway? Right or wrong on that? So 116lsa is not too big then? I will call them today. I wonder who to call, which company do you guys recomned? Im starting to lean towards the Yank tt3000 now.

for a 6.0L with a blower in a truck with an auto, I'd suggest something around 224/236 on a 115. That would also work well for a nitrous motor too.

Well I talked with the guys over ate Vinci and they want me to run thier XXX cam wich is something like 222/228 115lsa and with a 1.8 arm to increase everything 2-3 deg. This is big $$$$$ due to the dual springs they have $500 alone, arms $600 forget it! I just want a stick and springs damn it!

214/230 .601/.578 117 LSA Hows this look? Can I run 918's with this stick?
