Yeah I Have That Cam In A 5.3. It Will Run With Stock Tune But Gets Better After Tune. It Idles Lower Than Stock And Your Ac On Hot Days At Idle Dosent Feel As Cold.

many cams dont NEED tuning, theyll run without it, but as with any mod, it only gets better with tuning

interesting, i saw that and thought it would be a good daily driver cam, but here in texas on a summer day, AC in stop and go traffic is a necessity. is it worthwile to get a better cam and a custom tune than just get the old man truck cam?

defintly, but remember, any cam that you get recommended from peoople in 5.3's or 6.0's are gonna feel alot bigger in your 4.8. most of these ls1 style cams are rated mild, aggresive, etc but those are for 5.7l. smaller cams will feel bigger in your motor

I think it's around 193/.460, do a search and you should be able to find exact specs. My advice like everyone elses is to go big and tune later because that's what you'll eventually want anyway.

i have the cam in my sig and its just fine for a DD, alot of peopel dont like the fact its harder to tune bigger cams so they dont want to deal with it. some dont like the lope, or idle, or MPG or low end, and emissions. its all personal preference. if you dont mind being slow on the bottom end on the street then it doesnt matter
