I'm looking for a good cam for my daily, it's a 2000 Silverado regular cab with 5.3 and 192k miles.....I don't really want to change the torque converter.....I have a ticking lifter that's driving me crazy, so I plan to drop in a set of LS7's....since I'll have the heads off I'm going to have a local company clean them and do a valve job......I've been looking at the BTR stage 2 truck cam...I want a little lope, but nothing too crazy....anyone running this cam or have any other suggestions?....maybe the 212/218 low lift?.....I really just want something that will sound great, I don't care if it's fast, that's what the Camaro is for

 

Those cams both Stg 1 and 2 seem to be a good fit. You want sound look for overlap and a low lsa should chop pretty nice. If it's a 4.8 most cams will have a decent sound in the mini mouse lol. YouTube is your friend

 

I've searched a good bit.....seems some videos with the 5.3 and 212/218 low lift have the kind of chop I'm looking for, others don't sound like they have a cam at all.....I'm leaning towards the BTR's, probably Stg 2

 

its all in the tune, idle speed is a big factor i have seen a clip of a baby 206/212 thump a little bit when turned down to 525 rpm idle speed
