Thanks Guys!

Might be helpful in the future if someone else runs into this issue.

Can't really cut the spring pocket in the head 100 thou I wouldn't think, nor should need too..... and my valves are manley's we have verified at stock length. I prefer the proper seat load and not monster strength lol.

We even tried these springs on a stock set of LS3 heads and it's oem valves and netted the same thing..... shorter install height. Switching to a Comp retainer gave me another .050" netting 1.73" but they are not the lightweight titaniums I paid for lol..

Has anyone found this using these springs? I am dealing with the outfit directly but I am just curious if I got a incorrectly machined set of retainers or what.

I took the heads home so I will verify myself but I was at the shop and they showed me the measurements on the heads so its not like they were screwing up.

Glad you figured it out. Yea, these springs have the best spring load from stock rockers. My cam calls for the Comp cam duals with a **** load of spring pressure, that would have been more harm than good. Thats why I went BTR.

We'll see. I thought that too if I get it all to fit. Caliper should. I will worry about it when I have time.

Measured out my installed height and we are at 1.75" more or less. Spring pressure varies no more than 5 pounds between 170 and 175 psi... I can live with that. Stupid buggers that did my head work have my exhaust valve guide clearance way too tight..... cause having the exhaust tighter than the intake especially turbo'd makes sense..... Oh well. Good thing I have a friend that rebuilds cylinder heads for a living that will charge me basically nothing.
