Default Boosted lq4 cam advice

Hey fellas, long time lurker here,

just busted a ring land on my lq4 so it's coming out to get freshened up. Specs are 2003 Sierra Denali quadrasteer, stock lq4 with intercooled vortech V2 running 7 psi, 4l80e with HD2 kit and stock converter. I've got a chance at a BTR pds 2 cam, but am also looking at the ls9 cam or maybe brute speed boost cam. Looking for opinions on what cam to go with. I'd like to run the BTR cam if it'll play well with the vortech, but I'm worried that I'm leaving something on the table there. The ls9 cam is attractive because of the price and because it'll be gentle on valvetrain parts. Goal is a fun daily driver, I don't want to have to change out valvesprings every 20-30k or lose all fuel milage.

LS9 cam is a heavy *** truck will just suck ***, be super lazy down low and only go okay up top in the power band.

Buy some really nice valve springs and you won't have to worry about changing them out.

What are the specs on the BTR cam?

Gotta keep in mind you have a stock converter, so if it's large you won't like it without a stall.

I'd suggest the Isky Triple 12 cam as well, they work awesome with boost. Even hit up lil john motorsports and get a cam from them. Something in the 212/218 range or around there would be great.

Plan is to get a converter in the 2800-3400 range in the next 6 months or so, depending on what cam I pick.

Yeah, a converter would be a must with a cam that large.

I'd stay milder if you still want a decent pick up in power and keep similar fuel mileage.

I should also say, boost comes in around 3300 RPM, but it's really lacking power in the low end. I know alot of that has to do with the boat anchor convertor, but I definitely miss the pep it had off the line when it had a 4l60. Truck also has 4:10 gears and is AWD through a nv149.

If you have a blower that adds torque with increasing rpm, why pick a cam that peaks super high? With a centrifugal blower you can go much more conservative on the cam relative to a PD blower because the centri picks up torque when a smaller cam starts falling off.

Are you planning to keep the stock converter? If so I wouldn't go anywhere near that BTR cam, actually I wouldn't use that in your truck period. Nor would I use the LS9, like smokeshow mentioned you want a cam that will hit hard off the bottom, your blower will carry the power up top.

Do you plan to run more than 7psi?

I am absolutely planning on getting a convertor, just can't afford to do it right now. Would something like this Texas speed truck cams be better suited for my blower? https://www.texas-speed.com/p-5002-t...-camshaft.aspx
Maybe on a 114 lsa? They also have the same cam with .600 lift instead

I'd like to run closer to 10 psi after this rebuild, but I need to upgrade my fuel system first. I have 42 lb injectors now, but will be upgrading to gt500 injectors. I would love like to run a OD crank pulley to help bring the boost in sooner, but I think that will put me over my max impeller speed.
