Boosted lq4 cam advice
#11
Update: I ended up going with a cheap Elgin cam: specs are 220/224 .575 lift 112 lsa and pac1218 springs. Engine has about 100 miles on it since the rebuild, it's a stock gen 3 lq4 with gen 4 rods and pistons and file fit rings. The problem is it really struggles to build boost and I'm not sure if it is due to cam choice or if something else is wrong with the motor. I expected boost to be down because of the bigger cam, but I have yet to hit 4 psi and I don't want to push it in case something else is wrong.

You are moving so much more air now that boost is going to be a lot lower. My guess is it doesnt feel slower... you just dont see any boost.
Pulley down. If it blew up on 7psi before you need to take a good hard look at your tune or tuner.

OK... do you have a blow off valve? If the MAF is pre blow off that is just asinine and you need to fine someone who can help you arrange things properly and put a good tune in it.
