Default Best mods for power AND drivability.

So i have been coming up with a plan to put an LQ4 with 243 heads in my truck. I don't want to go crazy, but i have been thinking about porting the heads, maf, and throttle body. 2600 stall, 224/228 cam.

The thing is that this is my daily driver. I like the fact i can get on the highway and drive 2 hours away. Any farther than that i usually rent a ride. But what i am asking is what is your experience with this kind of setup and how driveable it is? Reliable? I understand that performance and drivability don't come together often. But i have always been old school. This is my first LS ride. It's always been huge cam compression ***** to the wall stuff for me. I just don't want to keep second guessing myself over my clean 07 Silverado 4.8L. Thanks guys!

Reliability is relative.

More power - less reliable (usually)

With that being sad,

A typical bolt-on truck is just as reliable as the original if the installer does the work right.

As for your cam/stall selection, your stall is too small. Go to a 3200 stall.

a properly stock style built 6.0 with a mild range cam and a 3000 stall would be a great daily truck.
